Infrared Sauna

The benefits:

Improved Blood Flow

When you’re in the warm, inviting environment of a sauna, the body wants to lose heat. It moves blood to the skin by opening blood vessels in the hands and feet through a process known as vasodilation. This improves blood flow to your muscles, helping to disperse the negative metabolic by-products of exercise.

Increased Detoxification

Infrared saunas can help the body release toxins through sweating, which can improve overall health and wellbeing.

 Improved immune function

Regular use of infrared saunas may help boost the immune system by increasing the production of white blood cells.

Weight loss

Sweating in an infrared sauna can help burn calories and boost metabolic rate.

Reduced Muscle and Joint Stiffness

Stretching whilst in an Infrared Sauna can significantly contribute to increased muscle and joint flexibility. It aids in the repair of damaged or thickened ligaments and tendons. This is because heat increases circulation within the joints and reduces synovial fluid thickness, which reduces friction, helping you move more freely.

 Reduced Stress

High stress not only impacts your ability to recover, but also affects your physical responses to training and raises your risk of injury. Using an Infrared Sauna helps to relax your muscles and relieve tension throughout the body, allowing you to relax and de-stress.

Improved Performance

The rise in body temperature causes physiological changes like those encountered during physical exercise. If used following exercise, repeated Infrared Sauna sessions result in beneficial adaptations for improving performance, especially in hot and humid environments.

Come relax and experience the upgraded benefits of an Infrared Sauna at THP Recovery LAB today!

Heat penetrates your muscles, increasing blood circulation and assisting healing. Infrared heat will also help tight and worn-out muscles to relax whilst improving skin health.

Unlike the traditional sauna, the heat of an infrared sauna is produced by infrared light panels, rather than steam and penetrates deeper. This electromagnetic energy first heats your body before heating the surrounding air, unlike traditional saunas that heat the air first before heating your body.

Infrared saunas also operate at a lower temperature than traditional saunas, about 60o C, compared with up to 90o C for traditional saunas. The lack of steam and the lower temperature of infrared saunas makes them more comfortable for many people. Many people feel that the dry heat of the infrared sauna penetrates their body more deeply than traditional saunas, whilst the lower temperature allows them to experience a more intense sweat.
